local realtor, Sade’, was looking for a brand refresh and needed a social media manager. until then, her presence on social media was inconsistent and with no strategy. together, we first tackled the new direction she was looking for in her branding. we went from darker colors to more neutral tones, sleeker fonts, and clean marketing materials. moving on to social media we sat down to create our content pillars, what is the story we want to tell?
fast forward now, 3 years later, we’ve created a consistent balance of educational content, updates, and trending, relevant content for her socials.

first progressive missionary baptist church.
in the midst of the pandemic, local church, first progressive mbc, was finding new ways to stay connected to their congregation, but without a website, logo or branding they were starting from scratch.
together we developed a brand guide, logo and begun to create marketing materials to promote church activities hoping to welcome the congregation back to church safely.

GOD is the best alarm clock, is a chicago-based t-shirt company that was for looking help designing their logo, selecting a font and creating t-shirt mock ups.

black power rising and black america rising was created by local DEI non-profit leader and his wife, while they had a beginnings of a logo, starting with their initial idea together we were able to refresh and finalize a logo, brand guide and promotional materials to help get them started with funding for events.

focus: HOPE
in 2020 I started as a marketing specialist with focus: HOPE, a Detroit nonprofit founded in 1968. since starting in the marketing role, I’ve gotten a chance to produce various graphics and marketing materials. I worked as a marketing specialist for two years. my primary role and responsibilities included managing social media platforms and creating consistent, thoughtful strategies and content creation. I was also in charge of making other marketing materials including flyers, posters, postcards, and more for each of focus: HOPE’s program areas.
in 2022, I became the marketing manager, now I manage large design projects, signage, and developing and implementing strategy across the organization amongst other duties. below is an example of a few of the projects I’ve worked on.

in 2018 I started with troy public library in an internship program. Soon, that role turned into a regular role where I handled their social media platforms. During my time in that role I was able to revive their social media presence with thoughtful strategy for each platform, while promoting library collections and events. One of my main goals for their social channels was to promote more diverse collection of authors and stories. through this role I also was able to sharpen my interest and design skills through promotional posters and social media graphics.
